Cairo again....

.. and this time I want a comment to get rid of.
We were determined there seven days have therefore can absolutely make a (small) image of the city. And I must say I would not like to live in Cairo. Cairo has 20 million inhabitants and to come back one measly four business days (!) - 5 million to the schonmal is crazy and you know it too. In Cairo Downtown can not walk straight, the streets are crowded almost everywhere, and a jam by 1 clock at night is not uncommon. Luckily there is a metro (which is also always full), which is to "relieve" the traffic. Cairo is probably one of the busiest cities in the world, so the above no wonder.
But Cairo is more than that this course are lots of nice corners (nice area) in Cairo, which differ from Downtown Cairo so much. Old Cairo (Cairo Christian) is, for example such a place here emboss narrow streets and churches (even a monastery) the picture here does not run (!) Cars as the roads are too narrow for it, and here, the people (predominantly Christian) apparently their Peace. The only thing here disturbs tourists (like us), the visit of 9-17 this quarter. In Khan Al-Khallili (Islamic Cairo), one can find the most beautiful mosques in Egypt, and buy the beautiful bazaar, a T-shirt for one euro. This is then also correspondingly more hectic, but that also fits into an oriental bazaar. At the Citadel (pictures below) and a park near this one has taste a nice view of Cairo and the Nile, a coffee very well. Of course we must, the Pyramids of Giza (25 km from Downtown, Cairo) do not forget that were definitely a big highlight of our trip.
So all in all, my conclusion: A very interesting city with many beautiful corners but generally far too busy. In any case
ne journey (but preferably not in summer).
